Meet our Founder
Crystal Hartman, our Founder and course educator, is a Florida-centric biologist. She has earned her M.S. in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences and her B.A. in Environmental Science, with a minor in Sustainability Studies. Her areas of expertise encompasses many forms of ecological sciences, including restoration, aquatic, and invasion ecologies.
As a biologist and educator at a prominent university, Crystal engaged in ecological research for 15 years. In the last ten years of her tenure, she also taught outdoor education and principles of applied science to youth, college students, and adults. Due to health and family considerations, she left her university position and is now dedicated to serving the community in North-central Florida.
Our Consulting Process
Our first and foremost focus is education.
We provide a complimentary thirty-minute phone consultation, accompanied by a pre-consultation questionnaire to maximize the use of this time. Our rates for additional consultations, design, and implementation services are competitive and reasonable. We value collaboration with our clients, working alongside you to realize your vision while educating you throughout the process.
Aquatic ecology is one of our specialties. We consult for pond designs, addressing any problems and enhancing the quality of your aquatic ecosystem. In addition to consultation, we provide the aquatic plants, fish, and invertebrates necessary to improve the stability of your pond. Consultations include biological surveys of the plants, life, and water chemistry. The data gathered from these assessments are used to create simple, sustainable management plans that will help you realize your vision.
We also offer Ecosystem enhancement for your yard or acreage. We specialize in increasing plant and animal biodiversity, as well as empowering everyday people to enrich their outdoor home environment.
